An honors graduate of Duke University and Harvard Law School, Cruell has put her intelligence to great use, creating original, unnerving short films and the acclaimed web series, 31, which was shot for an amazing $390.

L.C. began as a writer, creating numerous award-winning screenplays, pilots, shorts, and short stories.. Her scripts have been optioned for both television and big screen productions.

She is also becoming a prolific director, releasing both dark comedy and horror shorts.  A few of her credits include: Why I’m a Dogperson (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GwezMubJHZU), 31 (http://www.youtube.com/user/31webseries), and the upcoming Flesh.

Filmmaker Maud Michaud recently had this to say about the web series, 31:

“31 (http://www.31theseries.com) by L.C. Cruell is probably one of the most creative uses of the medium. The webseries is composed of 31 episodes, each with a running time of 31 seconds, which were released daily at 3:31PM starting on March 31st, 2011. You can now watch them all back to back on the website and on YouTube. The premise is simple: a woman wakes up trapped in a wooden box with no memory of who she is. Where is she? Why is she there? What is outside? Why 31? Reminiscent of the film Buried, this series is an effective thriller and succeeds in creating a claustrophobic feeling while keeping the audience on the edge of its seat.”
